Education & Training

  • Dr. Sokoll received a B.A. with Distinction from the University of Virginia in 1982 with concentrations in French Language and Literature and chemistry. He received an M.D. from the University of Virginia in 1986.
  • He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco/ Kaiser Foundation. He completed a residency in Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was elected chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was also elected chief resident. He received the Laughlin Award from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 “in recognition of professional achievement, dedication and scholarship” at the University of Pennsylvania.
